Your Stay

This is probably the most popular holiday choice and can give you freedom, flexibility and space, and is likely to work out the cheapest for those on a budget. Available for parties from 2 to up 12 people.

For most package holidays the standard of accommodation is roughly the same as a 'Summer Sun' package, in fact many of the resorts are summer destinations as well that cater for all the mountain pursuits such as walking, mountain biking, rafting etc.

Apartments are usually basic and have bathrooms ( usually a shower over a small bath ) kitchenettes with hob, microwave, fridge and if you are lucky a dishwasher.

You will usually be asked to pay a deposit on arrival and will have to collect your linen and towels from a main office when you arrive, though some operators may have the apartment all ready for you.

Tip1 - Don't forget that you may have snowy clothing to dry, and you may spend more time in your apartment in an evening than on a summer holiday, so if you can afford to upgrade to a slightly larger apartment when booking, it may be worth it for the extra comfort. Compare the floor areas of the different options and the number of bedrooms.

Tip2 - Take your own sheets and towels if you are driving, or when flying if your baggage allowance permits it, you will save money on linen hire.

Tip3 - Take a small amount of cleaning equipment: Scourer, sponge, small amount of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, liquid clothes wash. this will save you purchasing a 'cleaning pack' or buying more than you need at the supermarket.

Tip4 - Take some basics for cooking that don't take up much room in your case: Tea Bags, Salt*, Pepper*, Sauces*, Stock Cubes, Cooking Oil, Garlic etc.

*Collect sachets from cafes to take, only small and will save you buying in resort.
